UW to build Green College
By Greenie | May 29, 2008
So, I read a great bit about the University of Washington making plans to build a green college. The original article can be found here. What impresses me is that a well known university is trying to make a difference in the world by EDUCATING PEOPLE. This is the only way things are going to change for us. If we want a cleaner planet, we must all do our part and not just demand that government or corporations make it happen. There is no magic bullet to making our planet a better place to live. Instead, it will take the hard work, desire and sacrifice of each and every one of us to accomplish this task.
I have a four year old daughter and I really want her to live on a cleaner planet than we have now. I have older children that are learning global lessons in culture and economics by traveling to and living in other countries. We’ve got to do what’s right for ourselves, our children and our planet.
Kudos to the UW for taking this important step! They are providing a place for people to learn about climate change and other issues of our planet so that knowledge can be used all over the country and the rest of our planet.
